I’ve already covered where to meet girls in Rio de Janeiro on here, but what about the best places to actually stay during your trip if it’s your goal to sleep with girls? While this may not be a crucial topic in some cities in regards to specific hotels, it certainly is in Rio.
Why? Because most hotels won’t let you bring a guest (girl) back to your room.
As you can imagine, this creates a pretty awkward and annoying scenario if you’ve been able to pull a girl, only to have her turned away at your own hotel. To help you avoid such a ridiculous situation, I’ve compiled a list of 5 guest friendly hotels in Rio that are highly suitable for sex with local ladies.
As to specific areas to stay in within Rio, you aren’t going to have a lot of choices. So rather than choose your hotel based on location and proximity, you’re going to have to instead choose one based off its ground rules – the most important being the guest policy.
Fortunately, the majority of the hotels below are located in good areas for nightlife and such, so you won’t have to worry about that. Those that aren’t are only a quick cab ride away, which shouldn’t be a problem, as walking to your hotel late at night in some areas may not be the best idea anyway.
While 4 out of the 5 hotels listed are your standard, tourist-friendly hotels, I was sure to include a love hotel for good measure. For those not familiar, love hotels are basically sex motels that you can rent hourly, usually with a 2 or 4 hour minimum. Although you do have the option to stay overnight, these hotels are more geared for sex, and can include amenities like a hot tub, a stripper pole, mirrored ceilings, a dance floor, and more.
Three of the hotels are in Copacabana, so you’ll have close access to the beach, along with all of the various clubs and bars that are nearby. One hotel is in Botafogo, a beachfront neighborhood not too far from Copacabana, and the love hotel is in Madureira, a northern area in Rio that is mostly middle class. You’ll need a cab there and back to your hotel.
I always recommend my readers to choose their hotel in Brazil based on 3 criterias (the ones on the list below fulfill them all):
- Guest friendly – This is the most obvious, as there is no point if you can’t bring your girl back with you. Again, there aren’t many hotels in Rio de Janeiro that allow this.
- Value – Hotels aren’t cheap in Rio, but you can still find some good value for money deals – see below. The prices do fluctuate depending on the time of year (November-February is high season = slightly higher prices).
- Location – Since guest-friendly hotels are rather rare, location is actually the last aspect to consider. The Copacabana hotels on this list are near where a lot of the action is, while the Botafogo hotel gives you a bit more of a reclusive setting. The love hotel’s location isn’t important, as you’ll be arriving and leaving within a few hours via cab.
Best Hotels in Copacabana
Hotel Atlântico Copacabana
The Hotel Atlântico Copacabana is rated as a 4-star hotel and will set you back around $100 USD a night. As with the Praia Lido Hotel, you’re also paying for location. It’s just a short walk from both Copacabana and Ipanema beach, and it also features some of the best views you’ll find in the area, whether you’re on the balcony, or enjoying the surrounding scenery from the rooftop pool. Your girl will love it.
Most of the rooms have recently been renovated, so be sure to ask for a newer room upon arrival. Each room has cable TV, a telephone, and a stocked minibar with decent prices. Some rooms come with a living room and sofa. You can also hang out in the TV room, or enjoy a drink at the lobby bar, where you may very well encounter a few prospects. There is a bike-sharing station very close to the hotel, and the Siqueira Campos Metro Station is literally across the street.
Copacabana Design Hotel
That’s the hotel I usually recommend my friends visiting Rio. And it’s easy to tell why: Located just 250 meters from Copacabana Beach, the Copacabana Design Hotel is a decent 3 star hotel that has quite a few amenities for the price (around $65 USD per night). And like you can see in the photo – they have nice and big mirrors on the walls. Walking distance from a number of tourist attractions in downtown (like the Praça do Lido).
All rooms are equipped with air conditioning, a nice cable TV, a minibar and a small bathroom. The Copacabana Design Hotel conveniently offers a buffet breakfast which is served in the restaurant downstairs, and includes fruits, breads, cakes and cold meats, and a few different drinks, all available from 7am to 11am – great for late sleepers.
Promenade Princess Copacabana
This 4-star hotel offers some very modern, spacious, and pleasant accommodations just two blocks from Copacabana Beach and the Cantagalo Subway Station, and will set you back an average of $115 USD per night. All of the suites in the Promenade Princess Copacabana feature kitchenettes and very impressive balconies that are perfect for lounging, along with contemporary and minimalist decor that provides a relaxing ambience. If you tell your girl that you stay there, she will probably get excited and want to join you there right away.
The junior rooms are still quite spacious, but the suite is definitely the way to go, as you’ll get not only the balcony, but a separate living room area as well. Breakfast and internet access are offered free of charge. There’s also an outdoor swimming pool, sauna, hot tub and gym. The location itself is pretty hard to beat, as the street leading away from the hotel leads you directly to the beach and all of the surrounding nightlife and sex massages. Shouldn’t be too hard to convince some nice girl to come back with you when you’re a 5 minute walk away from an impressive hotel.
Best Hotel in Botafogo
Mercure Rio de Janeiro Botafogo
Botafogo is a relatively quiet and very safe part of the city, yet still close enough to Copacabana beach via cab (about 3 km – you can even walk there in 30-40 minutes). Mercure is actually a hotel chain, and well-known for its good and modern standard. The rooms all have excellent views of the surrounding mountains, and you won’t have to worry about street noise all that much, so that’s good. Rooms run around $90 USD per night.
Each room is air-conditioned and includes a fully-equipped kitchen. The hotel has an outdoor pool and a gym if you’re into such things. There’s also an onsite bar and restaurant that are open until midnight. Breakfast isn’t free, but you can include it with the price of your room and make your way down to the buffet each morning for a small extra charge. But no extra charge for the girls of course – this hotel is guest friendly as well.
Love Hotel in Rio de Janeiro
Jumbo Hotel
Well alright. If you ended up at a hotel that doesn’t allow guests, a love hotel is your only option for sex. Fortunately, places like the Jumbo Hotel exist, and with a nightly rate of $60 USD and hourly packages even less, you don’t have to worry. It’s kind of hard to be picky with love hotels, as they are really just a room for sex, so you’re not going to be too concerned with its amenities.
There are several different room types to choose from at the Jumbo, but if you want to really go for it, you can get the suite that includes a hot tub, sauna, a small jacuzzi and of course lots of mirrors. The rooms are all very simple and roomy, and they aren’t gaudy or over-the-top with their decor. You may end up in a room with some cheesy paintings that look like they are off the cover of an 80s erotic novel if you’re lucky. There’s also plenty of porn on the cable television if you need that.
